Homebreakin Records presents - Body Language 2 : Movement as Ritual

As the human brain evolved, it began to receive and process patterns in ever-growing complexity. Repetition, both rhythmic and melodic, became pleasureable, and systems of musical understanding developed independently across the globe. Seeking to express our ability to internalize these patterns, we devised specific routines that were then transmitted and mutated through cultures by way of various public and private dance rituals. Without being fully cognizant of our natural talent for mimicry, we nonetheless found ourselves part of an intergenerational, non-verbal dialog.

Scott W : Coastal tastemaker, avid crate-diver, and splendid frisbee

tosser, Scott W serves as a good-natured link between Vancouver's

discerning house scene of the late 90s / 2000s, and the present

environment of inter-disciplinary diversity. For the 'golden

era'-seeking 30-somethings that stayed on the West Coast festival

circuit these past few years, Scott always represented a level of

quality, confidence, and track knowledge that earned him rabid fans

and the reputation for playing must-see sets. As a new generation of

intellectually-minded house lovers discover the rich history of the

In a few short years, we've heard the invasion of cutting-edge low-end sound design into all electronic genres, for better or for worse. In the best cases, such as Vancouver's very own HXDB, the technology serves the music, allowing a visionary producer to realize a unique, deep, and eminently danceable style. His memorable DJ sets are replete with his own music; a delicious middle ground between broken-beat / worldbeat-influenced drum programming, future-house production techniques, and techno sensibilities. Expect a delicate balance of musical elements and percussive madness, and keep an eye out for his releases upcoming on Vancouver's 10Pin recordings and Palms Out, to name a few.
