As one of the most sought after conductors of his generation, 29-year-old Scott Seaton is an emerging force on the international music scene. A versatile musician who is equally at ease with all genres, he has been praised as a conductor with "finesse, clarity, and precision” by the Luxembourg Times.
Since his international debut in 2007 with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Seaton has conducted orchestras spanning North America, South America, and Europe. In recent seasons he has worked with the Brandenburger Symphoniker, Milwaukee Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Memphis Symphony, Winnipeg Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, Magdeburg Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Toronto Philharmonia Orchestra, Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, Bamberg Symphony, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Orquesta Filarmónica de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Detroit Symphony, and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra. Canadian born violinist A. Timothy Chooi, winner of the 71st OSM Standard LIfe Competition, is currently enrolled at the Curtis Institute of Music studying with Ida Kavafian. At the age of 16, Chooi captured the 2010 Grand Prix of the 71st l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal Standard Life Competition, bringing him numerous concert engagements. Chooi debuted his performance with the l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal under the command of Maestro Jean-François Rivest, which the La Presse Newspaper of Montréal described Chooi's debut as ''le miracle (the miracle).'' Within the next year, he made his debut recital at the ''Next'' Series at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa for upcoming musicians along with recitals at the Orford Arts Centre, Montréal Chamber Music Festival, Banff Centre of the Arts and the Vancouver Winter Chamber Music Festival. In 2012, Chooi will debut with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Toronto Phillharmonia, Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony and at the Morning in the Music Recital Series in Vancouver. In 2010, Chooi won the ''Special Violin Prize'' at the 2010 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition for Young Violinists in Oslo, Norway receiving a violin made by Jacob von der Lippe based on a Guarneri del Gesu model. He was invited to perform at the 30th Anniversary Celebration concert for the Vancouver Recital Series in 2010 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, Canada. At age 15, Chooi was the winner of the Morningside Musicbridge Competition in Calgary, Vancouver's Musical Society Club Competition and the recipient of the Roberto and Mary Wood Scholarship. Chooi maintains a close relationship with CBC Radio-Canada and his performances have been regularly recorded and broadcasted across the country.Join us and enjoy wonderful sounds with friend and family.
