GNOJAZZ will host another All-Star fund-raising concert and vocal showcase to benefit the GNOJAZZ scholarship.

This concert is the 5th in a series of special conerts to benefit the GNOJAZZ Scholarship Fund. Our mission is to encourage and support live performance as part of a vocal jazz education and to provide a scholarship to a vocal jazz student who would otherwise have to pause heir studies due to serious reasons.

In April 2011, we provided a $1200 scholarship to NAYOUN OH at Humber college. This year have so far $960 generated mostly from our last special concert in July 2011 and some during our weekly jam on Wednesdays. Donations we receive from this event directly benefit this scholarship.

The musical line-up

GNOJAZZ band: Peter Hill (piano), Ross MacIntyre (bass), and Norman Marshall Villeneuve (drums) backing nearly a dozen of Toronto's finest jazz vocalists including:

Alex Samaras, Amy McConnell, Shannon Butcher, Debbie Fleming, Yvette Tollar, Ori Dagan, Pam Hyatt Virgil Scott, 2011 recipient Nayoun Oh and more.

Great news, jewelry designer Louisa LaBarbera from Louisa LaBarbera Jewellery will be on hand with her mobile jewelry sale. She's be presenting the GNOJAZZ scholarship fund with proceeds from Nov & Dec sales and sales from this evening which will also count towards her donation. Louisa will be holding a raffle at this event for a beautiful pair of earring (I'm in love with them). For every $10 you spend on her jewels, you get a raffle ticket...bonus, show up wearing LaBarbera and get a bonus raffle ticket!!!
