Dear Friends, Casual Inquirers & Complete Strangers!



AQSAzine is looking for new members!



We are a Toronto-based grassroots arts collective by and for young women, trans people and their allies who self-identify as Muslim, and we are in the process of a complete overhaul and some exciting new changes!



Founded in 2007, our collective has produced four incredibly brilliant and popular zines over the past four years. We have organized several workshops, retreats and poetry readings over the last several years, and we are one of the only spaces in Toronto where Muslim women, trans identified folks and their allies can come together in an anti-oppressive, pro-choice and queer and trans positive environment to discuss and dissect the issues that matter to us.



Since many members have had to leave due to various other commitments, we believe this is the perfect opportunity to re-imagine our collective, to think deeper about what solidarity really means and looks like, and to be even more creative in challenging the stereotypes that continue to confront us every day of our lives.



We have always firmly believed that telling our own stories is a radically subversive act. We want to hear (and tell) new stories. This is an invitation for all self-identified Muslim women, trans folks and male allies to come forward and help make AQSAzine an even brighter and bigger space for us to share our stories.
