This beginner-friendly off-road 5K obstacle race will take place at Chestnut Mountain Ranch, located just 6 miles south of Morgantown, West Virginia. All proceeds from the event will go to support the work of the Ranch.
Chestnut Mountain Ranch is a Christ-centered safe haven for boys and families in crisis…a place for family restoration, where boys can enjoy school again, and all can experience positive family values. The Course and Obstacles
This 5K race will be on some of the most beautiful mountainside trails in the state! There will be a series of 10-15 obstacles. Details are still being finalized, but you can be sure you will get very wet and muddy...
Obstacles include: Culvert Crawl, Swamp Run, Hill Climb, Mystery Obstacle, Army Crawl, Hay Bale, Muddy Hill Assault Climb, Foam Board Maze, Downed Tree, Make a Shot!, Climbing Wall, Floaty Swim, Greased Monkey Bars, Bat Spin, Balance Beam, Ice Dumpster
Stay tuned for a comprehensive list of the challenges and a course map! The fastest finishers are expected to complete the race in approximately 30 minutes.
The Competition: Run for the Ranch
Individuals Race
$50 per person until 6 September 2012, $60 race day registration. Prizes for age and Men’s/Women’s categories
Mini-Mudder [Under 12]
$10 for the Mini-Mudder. Kids under 12. Prizes for age and Boy’s/Girl’s categories. The 1-mile course will consist of 3-4 kid-appropriate obstacles.
Team Challenge
$200 per 4-person team. Team winners based on place of final team member. Men’s, Women’s and Co-Ed [2 Men/2 Women] categories. Teams are encouraged to dress like a team; uniforms, costumes, banners, etc.
Sponsorship Challenge
Every runner is encouraged to have friends, family, neighbors and co-workers “Sponsor My Obstacles.” For example, a grandmother might want to sponsor you on the Army Crawl obstacle for $10. Multiple sponsors per obstance are encouraged. Individual and team prizes will be awarded for the most raised.

Spectator Gauntlet
Everyone will be able to participate! Water balloons and flour bombs will be available for $1 each. Make the course a little tougher for your favorite Mudder!
ALL PROCEEDS will go to benefit the work of Chestnut Mountain Ranch to help at-risk boys and their families.
After the Races: Awards and Ranch Tours
The awards ceremony will take place after the adult race and Mini Mudder. Feel free to stick around and enjoy all the ranch has to offer. Tours of the CMR facilities will be given after the awards ceremony.
Prizes will be given to the top finishers in the Individual, Mini-Mudder, Team Challenge, Sponsorship Challenge and Best Costumes!
Donate Your Shoes!
The Chestnut Mountain Mudder is proud to partner with Rancho Oasis for Youth. Everyone (participants and spectators!) is encouraged to bring a new or used pair of shoes or socks (sizes for two-year olds and up) to donate. For more info visit: ro4y.org

Spectators
Spectators are encouraged to cheer on Mudders! Please see the course map for spectator friendly areas. We highly recommend taking pictures of friends and family nose diving in the mud for a great cause!

What to Wear: Superheroes and Pixies
Costumes are highly encouraged (and rewarded at the awards ceremony). From superheroes to pixies we welcome them all. However, remember this is a family friendly environment. Please leave all violent, skimpy, and vulgar attire at home. Wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for our extreme muddy conditions.
