It is going to be our privilege and honor to have with us as guest artists the extraordinary dancers Clara Rodriguez and Melissa Cruz, and the powerful gipsy singer Kina Mendez.
David Paez (guitarist from Cordoba) will be accompanying them in a magic night! ()Singer and dancer Kina Mendez grew up in the Mendez clan of Gypsy artists from Jerez. She began singing under the influence of her aunt, legendary singer La Paquera de Jerez. Her professional career began when she joined Manuel Morao's company. She later worked with Mario Maya and toured internationally with Salvador Tavora's productions of Carmen and Carmina Burana.Performing in festivals such as La Fiesta de las Bulerias and Las Fiestas de la Vendimia in Jerez de la Frontera, she has shared the stage with Agujetas, El Grilo and La Macanita. A featured artist at this year's Festival de Jerez, her solo CD, “De Sevilla a Jerez” was released last year in Madrid. Mendez recently returned to California after several months abroad.Melissa is already amongst the most important flamenco figures for dance in the USA. She was formed in flamenco and Classical Spanish Dance under the guidance of Rosa Montoya, and continued studies took her to Spain and upon returning to the US, she toured and performed with several companies including most notably Madrid's acclaimed Noche Flamenca. In June of 2010, she was a featured soloist in the 32nd San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival and was presented again as a soloist for the 2011 edition of the Festival.

Clara Rodriguez has dedicated the last 20 years to the study of flamenco dance and music. She began her dance training in her native Santa Barbara, and continued her studies in Los Angeles and most recently in the Andalucia region of Spain, where she resided for 3 years. While living in Granada she performed regularly at such venues as Tablao Albayzin, Venta el Gallo, Eshavira, and Zoraya de los Jardines alongside such noted artists as Rafalín Habichuela, Emilio Maya, Ana Calí and Juan Angel Tirado amongst others. She has been a featured flamenco soloist in productions throughout the U.S., Spain, Portugal and India. She has studied flamenco dance with Concha Vargas, Juana Amaya, Andrés Marín, Isabel Bayón, Andres Peña, Úrsula Lopez, Alicia Márquez, Ana Calí, Patricia Guerrero and a host of others. In California her first teachers were Roberto Amaral, Linda Vega, Rita Alaya and Kathy Cota. She has studied cante with legendary singer Inés Bacán of Lebrija.
