The Pekinese Peregrine, an ancient, near invaluable, (some say cursed) artifact has just vanished while en route to the Royal Ontario Museum.

Eddie May, a local Private Investigator and one half of the famous "May & Sweeney" detective duo has been hired by Ottawa's own sensational chanteuse Birdie LaChance to protect her from a shadowy stalker - Mr. Joeseph Piro, a mysterious art thief who will stop at nothing to pinch both the birds.

One night, while standing watch over Miss LaChance's hotel, May's partner Lou is gunned down...and Eddie is the prime suspect!

Time is now running out for Eddie as he struggles to pinch the perp, bag the bird and clear his name. Will he emerge triumphant? Or has our intrepid hero finally succumb to...The Curse of the Pekinese Peregrine!
