The Central Florida Urban League presents Layon Gray's Black Angels Over Tuskegee staring Lamman Rucker (Star of Tyler Perry's "Why Did I get Married" & "Meet the Browns).
In its third year Off-Broadway, Black Angels Over Tuskegee tells a narrative of six African American men, who became known as the "Red Tail Tuskegee Airmen," embarking on a journey to become pilots in the United States Army Air Corps. The play chronicles the lives of these six men as they explain their collective personal experiences and challenges with Jim Crow, their intelligence, patriotism and dreams for an inclusive fair society of brotherhood.
Black Angels over Tuskegee is a play which goes beyond the headlines of the popular stories of the Tuskegee Airmen. It brings front and center the men who exhibited the courage to excel in spite of the tremendous odds they faced.
