TELL US WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR COMMUNITY.

Do you have an answer to these questions?

"What will make Nottingham better for its youth?"

"What needs to be changed about the representation of 'youth' in Nottingham?"

"How can we increase your awareness of what is available for you?"

Let us hear it and help us do something about it!

Nottingham youth are invited to meet with the YAYA committee to discuss how you and/or the young people you work with can get involved and help to shape and influence this event and its outcomes. This project will provide numerous opportunities not only for young people, but for youth workers, volunteers, arts organisations and anyone else working with young people. Young people are being given the chance to be heard and address what they want in their community.

The final event will take place in April with;

FREE entry, FREE food & FREE workshops.

Michaela Burrell has joined award winning Youth Arts Organisation YAYA (Young Adults Young Artists), to work towards her upcoming project for Nottingham city.

The aim of the event is to challenge the perception of Nottingham Youth. Touching on events such as the Nottingham riots, mis-representation made by the media, stereotypes and labelling, and lack of overall respect in our society, we aim to show that there is more to the people who will become the future of our City.

Addressing young people's own opinions of identity, vulnerability, and sense of belonging, this event will bring people together and provide opportunities for them to discuss concerns and debate how young people are represented in their communities.

This event will showcase live performances from young Nottingham artists, live & recorded music and film, arts workshops, and will focus on Nottingham's young success and talent, with contributions and faciliation by inspiration role models.

With the ongoing negative representation and gloomier predictions for the future of young people, this project is much needed in to improve the positive outcomes for young people in Nottingham City. We want to identify the problems and channel them into positivity.

We want to increase awareness and understanding of both young people and adults and identify potential solutions and actions required to improve the future of our city.
