Festival Description:
Shortcut Film Festival is an industry-driven Short film competition in which all judging panels are working filmmakers, screenwriters, agents, executives, etc.
Shortcut Film Festival-Short Film Competition feature industry professionals who share their work process and their scenes’ progression step-by-step and shot-by-shot. Soon we are also launching seminars on Film making and production. Participants are invited to take part and Study every aspect of Film making.
Each year there will be roughly 20 Seminars conducted in 15 major film cities all over India.
Shortcut Film Festival-Short Film Competition is a competitive showcase for filmmaker participants to screen their work to industry professionals and compete for prizes, which include cash awards from Shortcut Film Festival-Short Film Competition, designed to empower these filmmakers to further develop their careers.
Although the screenings are open to the public, Platform Event Management website will keep you informing on other aspects and details of Event (Venue, Tickets, and Social Cause etc.) on the Internet.
Rules & Regulations
1. The SHORTCUT Film Festival - Short film Competition of India is a festival of short films. The competition will be held on April 2012 at MUMBAI.
2. The competition is open to all national participants all over INDIA.
3. All films must be submitted on VCD/DVD for consideration of the selection committee, before February 28th 2012.
4. Each entry must be accompanied by a completely filled in entry form.
5. All entries must be sent to the SHORTCUT Film Festival - Short film Competition and insured for your own protection.
6. VCDs/DVDs submitted will not be returned, except under extreme circumstances, 500 fee is needed for the return of the submission after the festival.
7.If selected for the festival, exhibition prints may be presented in high quality DVD, the festival will accept other formats on a case by case basis and subject to availability of equipment.
8. The selection of the Films for the SHORTCUT Film Festival - Short film Competition will be announced not later than March 20th 2012.
9. Please notify us by email, if any changes of address. The festival committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.
10. The SHORTCUT Film Festival - Short film Competition reserves the right to use excerpts and pictures from the film for promotion and public relation purposes.
11. the film can be in Hindi, Marathi or English language, but it should be subtitled in English.
12. Running time of the film should not be less than 50 seconds and should not exceed 20 minutes.
13. No refund of the travel expenses is provided for the participants attending the festival; festival will provide free lodging for complete event and only for 3 main representatives for each of the selected films.
14. Academy Award Trophy and the cash prizes awarded for the competition winners in each category are similar.
15. Competition films produced after January 2011 till January 2012.
16. The films of any Genre can be submitted for the competition.
17. the short film can be documentary, experimental, narrative, fiction or animation. The original film may be produced on 35 mm, 16mm, HD, DIGI BETA, BETA SP, U-MATIC, DV, DVD; but the film must be available on DVD for presentation or preview purpose.
18. Each participant can send as many entries as he/she likes, but with separate entry forms (you cannot copy or Xerox entry form), preview DVD, synopsis/description, still photographs, press kit should be enclosed.
19. All entry fees will be acceptable in Indian rupees are to be made by sending Demand Draft or directly into account payable to Platform Event management.
20. All the amount collected by ticket/donation/pass would be utilized to help Social Activities, such profits obtained will be donated deducting the cost of event management.
21. the following prizes will given away as cash prizes for the Academy Awards winning filmmakers, Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best writer, Best cinematographer, Best Editor and Best Supporting Actors (Common Male/Female) will be honored for their exceptional achievements and will receive Academy Awards, cash prizes, and certificates
22. Registration fees for Professional Filmmaker amateur and students Rs. 1500 for Indians.
23. The entry fee for competition must be paid / sent through DD/cash/Direct transfer in the name of the Bank Account Number- “Platform Event Management”
24. The Preview material should be addressed to: SHORTCUT Film Festival - Short film Competition - Angelica Building, A 1002, 10th floor, Ghodbunder road, Thane west. Thane-400607.

25. after selection, the promotional material of the film has to reach the festival office before 28th February 2012.
26. Participation in the festival implies acceptance of these Regulations.
27. Decisions of the festival authorities regarding all matters not expressly provided for in these regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above shall be final and binding to all parties.
