MOMENCE GLADIOLUS FESTIVAL! Now with 75 years of deep-rooted tradition, it's the Small Town Charm and Values that make this Festival a staple of Americana, Pride and Patriotism.
This years Fest is surely going to be an unforgettable celebration here in Momence. I know this to be true, cause I have enjoyed this Festival for many many years... from when I lived in other towns and came in for the party... and now for the past 3 years that I have lived right here in Momence... It just keeps getting better and better! Heck, I live right on the parade route! I just grab a lawn chair, sit out front and watch the party go right on by!!!
My bandmates and I had a blast in 2010 as the Friday Night band (despite the less than desirable weather condtions).
We had even more fun last year in 2011 as the Saturday Night band (despite yet another year of less than desirable weather conditions)
And now, the Glad Fest Committee has asked us to return as the Saturday Night band for 2012. We, of course, accepted. And we're overdue for some good weather gosh darnit!!
As a Steward of my Town, I highly encourage all to participate in the week's festivities.... from the Coronation Ceremonies, to the Big Awesome Parades, the Carnivals, the Elephant Ears, the Boozey Bags Tourney, the Flea Market, etc... but if there's one thing you need to come to Momence for... it's Saturday... and the awesome street Dance that we'll be entertaining at. Sat. Aug 11, 2012... it will be an unforgettable night.
