The Southern Oregon Spring Awakening: Empowering Our Community Through Information, Inspiration, and Communication
Purpose:
The Southern Oregon Spring Awakening is a 3 day, 2 night village meant to inform the community on problems in the region, communicate to them the resources available for these issues, and inspire them to work with organizations seeking to improve conditions for residents of our beautiful region. SOSA will provide medical, health, mental, dental, homeless, LGBTQ, foreclosure, labor, and sustainability resources to the community. SOSA will provide a forum for discussion, problem solving, and solidarity between different activist, community, and political groups residing in Southern Oregon.
Theme:
The theme is in the subtitle and purpose statement. This is a community event meant to inform the region on issues and solutions to these issues. It will provide resources for the community as well as avenues by which these issues can be resolved. It will provide a place for the activist and community groups of the region to meet, similar to a convention or symposium. It will provide a place for the political groups in our region to come together and work on solving the real issues of our region.
Final Objective:
How to get the youth involved in their community? How do we get the youth to realize their future is slipping away with each day they live in apathy?
