The workshop: is designed to provide basic understanding about the role of the director and tools available in narrative storytelling. Included in the workshop are exercises and demonstrations that explore script preparation, blocking, scene analysis, POV, camera placement, and communicating with actors to promote strong performances. Kevin will direct professional actors in front of the group.
About the host: Kevin Coleman began his film training at Howard University where he studied under and interned for Haile Gerima (Sankofa, Teza) and Bill Duke (Sister Act 2, Hoodlum, Deep Cover, Dark Girls). Following Howard University, Kevin Coleman went to the American Film Institute where he earned an MFA in directing.
