Is proud to present The 14th Annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress & Bachata Room hosted by Island Touch with over 27 million hits on you tube under their artistic names, Ataca Y La Alemana. This event is held over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27, 2012. Due to the enormous demand to be part of the new L.A. this year’s four-day event of Salsa music and dancing moved last year to the newly renovated Westin Bonaventure located at 404 S Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA. The Los Angeles Salsa Congress is the ultimate Salsa experience containing a performance stage for live dance performances and concerts, pool parties with international DJ’s, general public dancing every evening till 4am and vendor booths with plenty of Salsa lifestyle products for music lovers of all ages.
The Los Angeles Salsa Congress every year is dedicated to “Creating Unity Through Salsa”, an annual event for people of all ages and cultures to enjoy the common ground of the art of Salsa music and dance. Thousands of Salsa dancers and spectators will travel to Los Angeles from countries such as Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Holland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Italy France, Greece, Israel, Dubai, Lebanon, Japan, China, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Norway, South Korea, United Kingdom, New Zealand, El Salvador, Peru, Singapore, Colombia and Venezuela in addition to attendees from over 200 U.S. cities.
Every year The Los Angeles Salsa Congress has attracted thousands of attendees from around the World over the four days and has honored celebrities and politicians including Andy Garcia, Tito Puente, Cachao, Jan Perry, Nate Holden, Jimmy Smitts, Edward James Olmos, Nicholas Gonzales and Eva Longoria.
The 14th Annual Los Angeles Salsa Congress & Bachata Room will have a Pre Congress party on Thursday May 24, 2012, beginning at 8pm at The Mayan located at 1038 South Hill St. The event will then move to the Westin Bonaventure where we will feature daily workshops for beginners, intermediates and pros beginning on Friday May 25 from 9am to 4pm. Pool party from noon to 5pm. Afternoon shows from 4:30-5:30 and the evening doors open at 7pm. At 7:30pm-8:30pm, we will host the qualifiers (competition) for The World Latin Dance Cup as seen on ESPN, to be held December 14-17, 2012 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. At 8:30pm each evening we highlight some of the best Salsa / Bachata dancers in the World. These dancers of all ages will mesmerize you each evening. Different shows every night. After the shows there will be a combination of Live Music and International DJ’s till 4am.
This year the band on Thursday will be a local band and on Friday we have contracted "The Lion Of Salsa" Oscar D' Leon with his full orchestra. More surprises coming soon.
Since its first year The Los Angeles Salsa Congress has been dedicated to “Creating Unity Through Salsa,” presenting an annual event for all ages and all walks of life and cultures to unite and enjoy through the common ground of Salsa. With attendance up over 30% this year’s congress is expected to bring over 10,000 dancers and Salsa fans from around the world to travel to Los Angeles to dance and celebrate with thousands of southland locals. In addition to nightly dance and music performances, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy workshops and music history seminars on Salsa music and dance.
