Now in it's 4th successful year, Southcity brings all aspects of the London dance music industry together, for a series of summer parties celebrating the vibrant club scene in our city. Created for the people who live, love & breathe dance music in the capital - this is a unique party for DJs, promoters, record labels, online media outlets, producers, musicians and more... not forgetting all the clubbers who make it all tick. We will be bringing to you a line-up celebrating some of the true pioneers of dance music, alongside DJs & promotions that showcase the very best talent that London has to offer.
For our 2012 relaunch party, we've found an amazing new venue, complete with a rooftop terrace featuring 360 degrees views of London and an stunning sunset over the Thames: The Bussey Building Warehouse. This magnificent, echoing Victorian building is a unique, arts and community-focussed warehouse space in Peckham, just one minute walk from the rail station which has excellent transport links all over London. The Bussey Building Warehouse has already seen discerning clubbers in their thousands flocking to underground raves and packed rooftop parties organised by the likes of Secret Sundaze, The Jungle Brothers, Horsemeat Disco and The 2 Bears, Warm and Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best.
For our re-launch party Jody Wisternoff, of Way Out West fame, is set to rock the rooftop terrace. From a young pioneer of the nineties rave scene, forming Way Out West with his tag-team buddy Nick Warren, Jody's successful music career spans 2 decades. Way Out West have released 4 successful albums and as a solo artist Jody has built up a massive global fan base and continues to gig in all corners of the globe. He is constantly evolving his sound with new tracks and showcasing fresh and experimental electronic music on his Frisky and Proton Radio shows every month. For the techno lovers amongst you, we present Colin Dale - who has been one of London's most cutting edge DJs for over 20 years. With a loyal following at his Wildlife nights, he still continues to surprise and marvel with his unique sound, blending blissful shades of electro and tech house.
We are also delighted to have some of Southcity's tried & tested crowd-pleasers back to rock the decks, alongside giving new talent the opportunity to shine. We proudly present the So Called Scumbags (Grin Recordings/Skint/Egg), Lizzie Curious (Hed Kandi/Juicy Music/Black Hole), Tim Cullen (Ministry of Sound) & D James (Grin) all back for their 4th year at Southcity. The infamous Real Tony Montana will be making his long-awaiting debut for us, alongside George Powell & Efas, Garth Hill & Future Filth and newcomers Move The House.
