Yahoi!
I'm BMXing from London to Brighton (54miles) on 16th Sept '12 for Help for Heroes charity.
Most of you know I broke my knee(ACL) Sept '08 on a Deplyment Exercise with the Territorial Army.
[ Long story:
1st Knee surgery 31/12/08, thats right New Years Eve, while everybody celebrated I was recovering from the medication, I could not tell what time it was. Thank you Hannah and Anant for celebrating the day before with me.
At this point my knee had been locked for 3 months, most of the muscle had deteriarated from no use and I could barely move it under its own steam.
Physio is NOT a massage. Its more along the lines of "how much pain can you take? Hold that position for a minute and... relax, now repeat five more times in both directions". For some reason everbody there was an OAP but me.
2nd knee surgery 07/07/09. The week before I split my lip and eyebrow with a collision with a door frame as I tried to rotate with the wrong leg in the middle of the night with no lights on. Fortunately I had the stitches taken out just before the op so no second trip needed!
At this point I could not bend my knee enough to even ride a bike as I had lost all the flexibity in my right knee.
Re-start physio.
The next two years I had to relearn how to walk without a limp and a cane. Regain enough flexiblity in my knee so I may ride a bike. And eventually dance again.]
Thank you for the love and support through this journey. I literally could not have made it this far without you all.
