Kate Denny
Kate’s voice has been described as both ‘striking’ (fRoots) and ‘lullaby-like’ (Mojo) bringing depth and range of expression to her songs and tunes that are haunting, poignant and whimsical.
The former composer, singer and fiddle player of The Kittiwakes now launches her new solo album ‘Closer to Home’ focusing her writing on matters closer to heart and home. Expect songs of tragedy and injustice, love and hope – and the odd talking bird thrown in for good measure! After three years of gigging with The Kittiwakes, Kate is no stranger to performing live, captivating audiences with the stories she weaves and gorgeous fiddle based tunes.
Praise for ‘Lofoten Calling’, Kate’s album with The Kittiwakes:
‘…compulsory listening’, Mojo
‘Impressive and uniquely compelling’, fRoots Magazine
‘Lofoten Calling is an inventive and thoroughly magical album’, R2
