The subject of quite the pitter patter of a&r footsteps last year, TKAK's 'hard to pin down' sound saw them put a single out on taste maker feeder label Communion Records (Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka amonst others) before being rumoured to have excited Virgin records so much that they offered them a 4 album deal pretty soon after.
An easy description of their sound is Folk Inflected pop rock, and here's a rather lazy list of comparisons: Arcade Fire, Orange Juice, Mystery Jets, The National, Grizzly Bear. Armed with enough harmonies, hooks and intelligence to appeal to the Radio 1 listener as much as the muso, 2012 looks set to be a big year for the quintet.
