Though musically a world apart; These two bands champion an undying punk spirit and D.I.Y aesthetic which has catapulted them into the heart of Leeds music scene. This single perfectly encapsulates both of these bands remarkable sound with two smart-arsed-art-pop quick fire singles.

Moody Gowns ‘Stepmother’ is a crooked military march drenched in confused, swampy barbershop harmonies; With singer Nathan Moseley contemplating the problems that can come with being the newest member of a tight knit household. It raises a wry smile, you know exactly what he means, you just know you could never say it yourself with such flamboyant cynicism. If weird pop is a viable genre, then this is its mantra.

On the other hand, Bearfoot Bewares ‘Tending To The Slim Pickings On The Floor’ is a psychotic jazz-punk-math freakout, a cryptic, murmuring stutter dwelling on the thoughts that probably occupy your head at stupid o’clock in the morning; It unravels at an alarming rate, arms-a-flailing, before erupting in the listeners face. If shout pop is a viable genre, then this is its mantra.
