Russell van den Berg is an award winning, in demand, British Saxophonist. With recent accolades by the likes of Randy Brecker and Mike Stern for his new album "A Virtual Joyride", he's also as comfortable surrounded by the likes of Kenny Wheeler, to being a featured soloist in UK contemporary big bands or large ensemble.
To name a few Russell has worked with:
Rob McConnell Big Band, Carla Bley, Kenny Wheeler, Stan Sulzmann, Phil Lee, Phil Woods, Laurence Cottle Qt. Clark Tracy Qnt. Anita Wardel, John Warren, Nikki Iles, Mike Walker, Hans Koller, Nick Weldon/Andra Sparks Qnt., Bill LeSage, Digby Fairwether, Jeff Clyne, London Jazz Orchestra (LJO), the contemporary Jazz ensemble “Arrange of Space”, the Steve Waterman Quintet and the Kenny Wheeler Sxt/Qnt. Over the years his own projects include "Chamber group" (with John Parricelli and Henry Lowther). Various Quintet’s (featuring Mike Walker, Phil Peskett Tim Giles & Laurence Cottle), various Quartets (featuring Laurence Cottle, Robin Aspland and Clark Tracy/Gary Willcox.
He will be Joined by Nik Svarc on Guitar, LCM Bass Tutor Garry Jackson and Joost Hendrickx at the Drums.

UK based award winning saxophonist and composer James is known for a style that compliments a wide range of music, from the warmest heart-felt ballads to the energy of fast and complex pieces. At 22 James has a technique beyond his years and applies extended saxophone technique to a conventional foundation. He fuses contemporary composition techniques with the jazz tradition and his wide range of influences include names as diverse as Chris Potter, Mark Turner, Anthony Braxton and John Zorn.
With his quartet featuring creative Leeds based musician's Nick Svarc (guitar), Mick Bardon (bass) and Joost Hendrickx (drums), he explores a sound world of dynamic extremes with original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards.

This new quartet is a fresh project born out of the collaboration between recent Leeds College Of Music graduates Ben Lowman, Max Sterling and Steve Hanley. The three recent graduates playing is based on the traditions of jazz but is fused with guitarists Nik Svarc’s own eclectic approach.
