After 17 years of tagging, writing and painting the most awesome

pictures to be seen on walls, trains, buses and ad campaigns around

the country, Themba Malaza aka Dreada aka Hope 76 is finally taking

his graffiti/art work to the next level. This street art maverick and

hip-hop connoisseur has decided to host an exhibition showcasing a

body of work that reflects his take on LOVE.

Since it was love of the art-form that lead to Themba’s dedication to

the craft , and it was the love for the art-form that cost him to do

time behind bars, and the month of February is also known as the month

of love, it is thus fitting that Dreada’s exhibition is entitled

Nothing But Love. The body of work to be presented at this exhibition

reflects Themba’s interpretation of love from various perspectives,

but most notably his love for the art, love for the street and the

love he has for his people.

With so much beef and hate talk dominating the hip-hop scene, Themba

decided to call up his friends to bring love to the scene, by

exhibiting love in other artistic ways. DJs and poets are also part of

this exhibition, as they will play tunes and spit words that make this

exhibition of love the best place to be at. The DJ line up includes

TS, Fanta, True Jones, Digga & Black, and Makhafula is the one poet

who spits truth and love in the most gruesome way. All of this is what

will be cooking at Kitcheners in Braamfontein, on the 18th of

February, 2012,

from 7:30pm till all the love is felt by everyone.
