over the years i have had so many people call or email me from within Houston and outside Houston inquiring if i have a good tailor, seamstress /designer who can make some creative outfit by just looking at the persons shape and body structure but the truth is i really do not know any because i make my clothes from Nigeria due to bad experience with some tailors lack of creativity; but in recent times the trend has changed tremendously and i feel its time for a battle of the African fashion Designers and creative people who can use their hands creatively where by creating self employment and jobs to better their lives and our community a large

We are officially calling on interested participants to an African Fashion Designer’s Competition & Exhibition at the 2011 Ankara Festival tagged “Africa’s Finest Fashion” a fashion contest among Houston based African Fashion Designers and creative artisans who can make or mold anything out of Ankara i.e ear rings, bangles, shoes , bags, belts , head-bands, invitations, watch straps etc to exhibit and show case their products to the world.

The competition will feature 5 Core Houston Based Fashion designers’ Compete for the Title “African’s Finest Fashion Designer” and also 5 up-coming designers to showcase their creativity in a fashion show.

We will be proud to show case fashion designers from outside Houston to show case their designs in a special segment tagged “Welkom to Houston”

We are also looking for interested hair stylist, makeup artist, singers, cultural/dance group willing to be discovered, models (male & female) to help model the outfits. Also needed are VOLUNTEERS TO BE A PART OF “AFRICA’S FINEST FASHION’’ Fashion Show & Awards night CREW 2011.
