Of all the musical elements, drumming is that most associated with abandonment. The drummer has the ability of rhythm to deliver listeners into frenzied dance or stricken trance – to drive them, literally, out of their minds – implies a negation of the cerebral in favour of the physical.

This month at Highlife, we're Talking Drums...

DrumTalk got in touch with the label recently with some wicked new tracks. We were already familiar with his stuff have rinsed his edit on Sofrito from last year. Already a respected producer with years of releases under another guise (which will remain secret), DrumTalk represents a change of direction and is very much fitting of the Highlife sound. With releases lined up on Soundway and others, we're excited to be giving DrumTalk his Scottish Debut.

Support, as always, from Auntie Flo. Recently added as a resident at Plastic People in London, his remix EP is out this month featuring the massive Pearson Sound Remix of Oh My Days and SOPHIE's take on Highlife.
