The final exhibition at the Collins Gallery draws together treasures from George Wyllie’s Archive, generously gifted by the artist to the University of Strathclyde, and celebrates not only his extraordinary career, but also, his long-standing relationship with the Collins.
Inspired by a transcript of an extensive interview commissioned by the British Library, the show will aim to capture the essence of George through selected letters, photographs, sketches, programmes, small sculptures, paintings and the DVD made especially for The Cosmic Voyage.
Visitors will also be encouraged to visit two of Glasgow’s best known Wyllie sculptures: Monument to Maternity and the Running Clock, both located nearby.
