Official Prelim. to the KY State Festival Pageant

2012 State Finals will be held in

November at the Hyatt Regency Lexington

Categories will include Beauty and OOC

There will be age divisions for Boys 0-6 years and girls all the way up to adults.

Registration for 0-6 years will begin at 9:00 AM with the pageant beginning promptly at 10:00 AM. Age divisions will run back to back with no pausing between, so contestants ages 0 to 6 should be ready for the stage at 10 AM. Immediately after beauty, contestants should begin readying for outfit of choice. It will begin after the conclusion of the last beauty group.

Registration for contestants 7 years and up will start at the same time (9:00 AM) and run until the start of those age divisions at 12:30 PM. Contestants in these age divisions DO NOT have to arrive by 10 AM. As long as you are registered, checked in, and ready for the stage by 12:30, you are good!

*Some have voiced concerns about waiting for crowning, so that is why we have decided to break up the pageant into two parts. All 0-6 year olds will need to be ready at 10:00 for beauty and at 11:00 we will start OOC for 0-6 years. Crowning will start at 11:45 for the 0-6 year olds. So you guys should be winding up around 12 or a few minutes after!

*Then at 12:30, we will begin beauty for 7 years and up with OOC beginning at 1:30 for these girls and crowning at approximately 2:00 PM.

This is not a glitz pageant. We will allow some make-up and glitzy type attire, but that does not mean that a contestant must wear these things to be competitive in this pageant. A contestant may wear their glitz dress, but we prefer no tanning or flippers. Make up should be kept age appropriate for enhancement of natural features only.

Attire is Sunday Best or Pageant Wear for beauty. OOC (outfit of choice) may be off the rack or custom, but please keep in mind that an expensive glitz OOC will not mean a higher score. Contestants will score best in an outfit that helps them to display their true personality! It can be anything from overalls to a frilly dress or glitzy ensemble - whatever they are happiest in and will perform well in!

*Attire for the 7 and up girls should really be formal as opposed to Sunday Best.

You may bring your own music for OOC, if CD is labeled with name, age, and track # to be played. You will be responsible to pick up your cd at the end of the pageant, along with any photos submitted. If you do not supply a CD, we will play an upbeat, age appropriate track. OOC will last 60 seconds per contestant. There will be no extra time allowed, nor will any contestant be rushed off stage before their time is up.

OOC is not a category at the state level, but we feel like it is fun for the contestants and really helps show off their personality! Please do not be intimidated by this category if you have never done it before - it is just FUN! If you have any questions or concerns, we would love to hear from you!

Photos should be no larger than 8x10 and must be unframed. We prefer a more natural photo as well.

Entry fee will be $35 and includes Beauty and OOC. You may enter the optional categories for $15. They are Most Beautiful/Handsome, Most Photogenic, and Best Dressed. These cannot be entered seperately; either enter all for $15 or none. This just makes things easier on our judges.

In each age group - We will award the Queen/King with a crown, sash, and trophy. 1st and 2nd Runners Up and OOC winner will recieve a nice trophy. Optional winners will also get a trophy.

And don't forget that the winner of each division will advance to the KY State Festival Pageant!

We will not be doing supreme categories this time.
