The Engaging Culture Course is a four-part course that takes place on a series of Saturdays. It is aimed at people who want to get a thorough grounding in evangelism and apologetics in order to converse effectively with others about what and why they believe.
The next Engaging Culture seminar will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 9am - 1pm at Rexdale Alliance Church, 2459 Islington Avenue, Toronto, ON. Registration begins at 8am. Breakfast is included.
A choice of three tracks of lectures will be running on the day ...
Track 1*
- The Biblical Mandate for Apologetics (Dr. Andy Bannister)
- The Nature of Truth (Dr. Stuart McAllister)
- A Practical Guide to Conversational Apologetics (Rick Manafo)
Track 2
- The Christian Worldview and Why It Matters (Dr. Stuart McAllister)
- Critical Thinking and Understanding Arguments (Nathan Betts)
- God and Science: Is Belief in God Irrational? (Dr. Andy Bannister)
Track 3
- Jesus, History and the Resurrection (Rick Manafo)
- Understanding and Reaching Our Muslim Neighbours (Dr. Andy Bannister)
- Why Trust the Bible? (Nathan Betts)
(*Track 1 is a prerequisite for taking any other track)
Bonus Lecture
Stuart McAllister, one of our North American team members, will be joining us for Engaging Culture and has kindly agreed to offer a bonus lecture for those registered for any track. The bonus lecture will take place 30 minutes after the completion of the regular seminars. Seating is limited and will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Lecture notes (in both hard copy and download formats) as well as audio recordings are available for purchase. (Only available for seminar attendees. The notes/recordings will be for whichever track you attend on the day).
About the Speakers
Dr. Andy Bannister is the Canadian Director and Lead Apologist for RZIM Canada. He speaks and teaches regularly throughout Canada, the USA, Europe and the wider world. With a background in youth work before studying theology and philosophy (focussing especially on Islam), Andy was previously based in Oxford, from where he worked with churches and organisations across the denominational spectrum.Read Andy’s full biography …
Dr. Stuart McAllister joined Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in 1998 as the International Director and today serves as North American Regional Director and Vice-President of Training. Nathan Betts is the Intern Apologist at RZIM Canada. He received his undergraduate degree from Tyndale University College after which, being a keen baseball fan, he worked on the Toronto Blue Jays Ground Crew for four years.Read Nathan’s full biography …
Rick Manafo has been a member of the RZIM Canada team since 2006. He received an A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory of music, graduated with a Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary, and is also an ordained minister within the Presbyterian Church in Canada (Knox College, University of Toronto).Read Rick’s full biography …
