Information from our 2011 production:

Written and performed by Liberty Des Roches-Dueck
Directed by Caitlin Skinner
Co-created with Rachel Amey and Liz Strange

• TV Bomb (4 Stars) “An honest piece of theatre…heart-wrenching…Such a truthful account of the juxtapositions of mother-daughter relationships. Liberty Des Roches-Dueck makes us laugh and cry as she describes the highs and lows of going full circle from daughter to mother. …the ideal occasion to reflect on and appreciate your mum.”
• Leith Tonight (5 Stars) “Simple, emotional and stunningly powerful”
• Edinburgh Spotlight (4 Stars) “the audience are left satisfied by the many ingredients which have gone together to cook up this tender and honest examination of the eternal mother / daughter relationship…touchingly symbolic… innovative and intimate ”
• Lothian Life “a challenging and even radical look at the relationship between a mother and daughter…very moving”
• STV Local “delightful…scintillating…heart-warming”
• Remote Goat (3 Stars) Mother, a la Carte is a moving production with relatable themes. I found myself easily absorbed into the performance and noted at one point I was not the only eye in the (unsurprisingly) all female audience that had gone slightly teary.
• The Scotsman (3 Stars) Des Roches-Dueck is a warm and persuasive performer…Mother, A La Carte is an interesting show, attracting a rare all-female audience to a uniquely welcoming venue, and avoiding most of the clichés of the modern theatre of female complaint,

You are warmly invited to an evening of feasting and theatre with an insightful and uplifting play about the mother and daughter relationship. Written and performed by Liberty Des Roches-Dueck.
