Camp Fareta 2012 will be happening July 8-14 in beautiful, sunny central California, and we hope you can join us! Youssouf will be teaching almost every day -- Mamady Keita will be back, and this year Mabiba Baegne is joining us! -- and lots of your other favorite teachers will be there. It's a great place to learn, play, relax, and hang with a great group of people -- previous campers have called it "mini Guinea" and say it's the highlight of their year!
There will be beginner and int/adv classes in drum and dance. Some of the other artists this year will be Moustapha Bangoura, Abdoulaye Sylla, Djeneba Sako, Marie Basse-Wiles, and Aziz Faye for dance, and M'Bemba Bangoura, Bolokada Conde, Wadaba Kourouma, Alisco Diabate, Fode Bangoura, Moussa Traore, Cheikh M'Baye, Ibou Ngom, Samba Guisse, and Monette Marino-Keita for drum. Lansana Kouyate will teach group balafon lessons if we get enough interest.
We'll have the same amazing chef as previous years -- the food alone is worth the trip. You can also take side trips to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park, which is right nearby. Check the website for lots of information about work-exchange, Kids Camp, pricing, group rates, the location, and more. Prices go up May 1, so register now for the best rates!
