Each year, we come out to recognize and celebrate " Black Price", and in years past, many different promoters have sponsored events in recognition of this special weekend. Though the happenings of the previous years have been memorable and pride- filled, our community seems to have almost become divided by the presentation of such events, which tend to focus more so on the party aspect of this celebration and less on the values and initiatives of the organization as a whole. This year, we are working to change that. In a time when unity is demanded, it is of utmost importance that we join together to show support for those who support us all. It is the goal of the Coalition of PRIDE Supporters to do just that. Our family of local promoters, business owners, LGBPT organizations and supporters, have joined together in order to present a unified itinerary in recognition of this year’s Black Pride celebration and we are reaching out to our multicultural, multidimensional community for support and participation!
June 20th 2012, marks SUMMER SOLSTICE, an ideal time for us to join together and stand in united peace with one another. It is time to set aside all the pettiness that has keeps our community separated. As you can see by the upheaval this great country suffers with in just accepting the rights of all to be equal, WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER! This is an opportunity to show your support and PRIDE along side those who support and love you. All events are family friendly and held at venues that support this worthy cause. All parties and events under the SUMMER SOLSTICE logo will be giving its profit to Charitable organizations and to those who fight for the rights of this community. An official schedule will be out soon. This schedule will hopefully be synchronized with the planned events our wonderful Black Pride board has prepared for us! We hope this will bring out an abundance of diverse attendees, as we need everyone to participate and help build our “Pride” here in South Carolina into the same successful weekends enjoyed in Miami, Atlanta, and abroad. We can do it just by supporting each other and by working together.
