Yes, we are doing the Traditional Deep South Christmas Tailgate BBQ
again, this year on December 17, which happens to be my mother's
birthday and Emery Clark's wedding day. As usual, we will have at
least 1200 lbs of food to serve, and maybe 2000, depending on what
everyone else brings. No, there is no cost for this as it is a gift
from all of us that tailgate at USC games to any and everyone that
comes to celebrate with us. We have a wonderful time and meet people
of all strata. Everyone is always welcomed, and there is no limit to
how much you may have, at least until we run out, and that takes all
day. Our chefs are fabulous BBQ chefs, so you can have the last great
BBQ of the year with us.
Many of you always ask what you can do to help. Each year I suggest
bringing food for Harvest Hope, old cell phones for Sistercare,
clothes, toys, old working computers, and anything else that might be
of use to someone in need, as long as it is a working object. Through
you, we have given hundreds of pounds of food to Harvest Hope along
with hundreds in cash, many clothes, cell phones, and so much more to
those people places that need. Take a look at those things you no
longer need or use and bring them December 17. We will find an
appreciated home for them.
Of course, we can always use help preparing and serving. If you would
help with that for just 2 hours, it will greatly appreciated as we
are always shorthanded and overworked. Any of the items below that you
may have will also be greatly appreciated, especially a fire retardant
tent or two in case it rains.
I hope to see all of you here in front of Upstairs Audio & Video on
the 17th. Please call me (513-3357) or Alden Wheeler(803-673-8388) with any questions or suggestions.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
