AJKUN BALLET THEATRE COMPANY POSITIONS

ABOUT: AjkunBT prides itself to provide opportunities to artists of all citizenships, as we consider diversity as enrichment to the arts community. Company yearly contracts are 48 weeks (fulltime) and 23-26 weeks (part-time).

Qualifying dancers may be referred for employment to AjkunBT's Partners in Dance, a worldwide network of over 100 dance companies sharing our vision to open the avenues of opportunities to younger dancers of any citizenship.

REPERTORY: Over 35 classic and chamber ballets are kept alive in our repertory, with an average of 5 contemporary and innovative creations produced every year during the Company’s 48 week season.

QUALIFICATIONS: Male and Female dancers of all citizenships are encouraged to audition. Strong training in Ballet required, additional Modern Dance training preferred but not required.

AUDITION: Dancers may audition via DVD or in person at one of our Open Auditions, through Ajkun Open Classes (in January, February and September), or through Company Class (by appointment only).

PERFORMING IN NEW YORK 2012

ABOUT: Performing in New York is a prestigious and unique opportunity that allows Professional Dancers, Dance Students, and Dance Teachers to join The Company for a combination of intensive training and performance opportunities. The program consists of advanced training and a hands-on understanding of the company’s production and performance time, fully allowing participants to experience the reality of life in a professional company not accessible in a study setting. Participants will benefit from promotion through the Company’s Press and Communication Division, as well as exposure across the globe through a network of companies in AjkunBT’s Partners in Dance.

CURRICULUM: Daily Curriculum includes classes in: Ballet Technique, Pointe, Pas de Deux, AjkunBT Repertory, Modern Dance, Staging & Performing, Laboratory Choreographic, and Pilates (optional one on one sessions) Specialty Classes Include: Injury Prevention, Nutrition, Workplace Awareness, Repertory History, Make Up, Career Preparation & Professional Networking, Life on Tour

QUALIFICATIONS: Suitable for male and female dance students age 14 and above at an advanced level who are intending to pursue a professional career, as well as Professionals looking to further their career in the industry.

ADMISSION: Acceptance is granted by audition, either in person at one of our Open Auditions or via DVD.
