Are you frustrated with the high prices, and unhealthy variety of food available on the Capilano campus?

THURSDAY, MARCH 10TH IS YOUR CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Boycott on-campus food services for a day, sign the petition and take advantage of the free lunch being offered in the CSU Lounge in the Maple Building.

We are asking students who agree that EXCLUSIVE CONTRACTS ON FOOD SERVICES ARE A BARRIER TO AN EFFECTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT to boycott the on-campus food services, including the cafeteria and vending machines and sign a petition DEMANDING THAT THE UNIVERSITY DOES NOT RE-NEW AN EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT WITH ARAMARK OR ANY OTHER FOOD SERVICE PROVIDER.

For almost seven years, Aramark has held an exclusive contract with Capilano University, ensuring that they are the only food service provider on campus. The exclusive contract signed between the University and Aramark eliminates competition and allows Aramark to be unresponsive to student wants and needs.

From 11:30 – 1pm the Social Justice Committee will be in the cafeteria handing out information on Capilano’s current exclusive contracts, and ones like it at other post-secondary institutions. As well as asking students to sign a petition that appeals the university not to sign another exclusive contract when the current contract comes up for renewal.

On THURSDAY, MARCH 10TH, take a stance together with your fellow students and show the Capilano administration just how you feel about exclusive contracts that result in high prices for poor quality food services on campus.
