DAY ONE - Tuesday August 28, 2012
Festival of Colours - Originals Stage
The Multicultural Festival of Colours "Originals Stage" will highlight our unsigned Independent solo artists and bands, who create, perform and record original music. All those original recording artists who are interested in a paid opportunity to perform on a professional stage (backline will be provided) and an opportunity to perform to a broader audience than would normally be accessible to them. Please confirm your interest by Registering today!
All local/regional independent songwriters/musicians and bands are invited and encouraged to Register for consideration by the Multicultural Festival of Colours Planning Committee to perform at the Multicultural Festival of Colours Originals Stage.
All songwriters/recording artists are required to submit a completed Performer/Group Application Form and include a either a three (3) song Demo, an EPK or recent recording of their original music/compositions for consideration of performing on the Festival of Colours Originals Stage.

Multicultural Festival of Colours
Goals and Objectives
- to celebrate the diversity of our City, region and the strength that this diversity contributes to a community, our region and the Province of New Brunswick.
- to provide a positive and harmonious environment for presentation of our culturally diverse and talented ethno-cultural community to a broader audience.
- to celebrate these strengths and provide an opportunity for the recognition of them, through the presentation of cultural performances, workshops, authenitic ethnic food, community and public institutions Programs and Services through exhibits/kiosks.
- to acknowledge and support further positive growth of our diverse multicultural artists and performers in New Brunswick and its surrounding communities.
- to provide opportunities for all of our ethnic communities, respectively, to broaden their audience, increase community participation, membership and awareness of these communities, by promoting the strengths and contributions that our multicultural communities contribute to the enrichment of our society.
- to remind everyone about the contributions of various groups to the city’s rich and diverse cultural communities, and that provides a reflection of our city and our people that we are all very proud of.
- to encourage our multicultural communities and youth the opportunity to develop their skills and talents for presentation to the broader community.
- to encourage all cultural artists, artisans, cultural performing artists, creative artists, cultural dancers, bands, musicians from the various genres, storytelling, spoken word, theatre, film, comedy, cultural arts, and crafts to apply for an opportunity to participate, together.
- to provide a FREE Multicultural Festival annually, to develop and support our current multicultural groups that will foster future development at the community level for all ethno-cultural groups to be represented during the event.
- to facilitate and promote an annually held Multicultural Festival of Colours as a positive and progressive step in the development of an inclusive, welcoming and positive environment for all newcomers in Saint John, its surrounding communities and the Province, to celebrate Diversity.

THIS FESTIVAL/EVENT PAGE IS IN DEVELOPMENT
The Multicultural Festival of Colours is a FREE four (4) day Multicultural Festival that begins on August 28, 2012 to August 31, 2012 hosted by the Multicultural Association of Saint John Inc. the Saint John Exhibition Association and various other interested stakeholders.
The Multicultural Festival of Colours are seeking funding support from various levels of government for the Multicultural Festival of Colours. There are numerous volunteer and sponsorship opportunities.
Our Festival Project Proposal submission will take place in late September 2011, in order to comply with submission deadlines. Please ensure that you or your organization provide the MCOF Planning Committee, with written support as possible please.
All cultural and ethno-cultural performance artists/groups, cultural community groups (new and established), community-minded youth and those interested in participating in the Multicultural Festival of Colours, are invited to register and confirm you or your groups intention to participate and represent your organization.
All cultural performance artists, artisans, cultural community groups, interested volunteers, exhibitors, presenters, speakers are encouraged to actively participate.
