We need teachers, musicians, writers, poets, scholars, and learners of all stripes.
If you like to sing, dance, read, write, think and learn while challenging staid academic conventions all at the same time, then you need to join us on Thursday April 19th for the inaugural hoedown throwdown of Hack the Dissertation, an effort to breathe life into the stale, unread medium of the doctoral dissertation.
Our first project, “Pedagogy of the Expressed” explores the intersection between the philosophies of preeminent education scholar John Dewey and folk music legend Woody Guthrie through active hands-on experiential learning.
The core tenets of the Hack the Dissertation Collective are:
A dissertation should be useful.
A dissertation should reach beyond the academy.
A dissertation need not be bound by the printed word or the page.
A dissertation is an opportunity for a conversation.
If you're interested in being a part of planning the event, drop a line to paul.tritter@gmail.com. It's gonna be fun.
