Most paintings copied from photos look like a photo, often bland and flat. In this 2 week workshop, artist and teacher Martinho Correia will take you through the methods used to create paintings using photographs as the main source. In the first week, students will copy a photo of nude figure, learning the painting process. In the second week, students will be shown the proper way to take a portrait photo in order to turn it into a painting. From their own photos students will then complete a portrait painting. In the process students will learn about colour design, planes and anatomy of the head and setting proper value relationships in addition to practicing the steps introduced the week before. Anyone that uses photos and wants better results from their work should not miss this unique workshop.
