Colin Linden & Band, Jimmy & The Sleepers and The Du-Rite Aces at Bowness Community Hall. This is gonna be one epic party and an opportunity to thoroughly unleash your mojo on the dance floor X 3.
Headliner, Colin Linden, is a genuine renaissance man of roots and blues music. He’s a singer and songwriter of great skill, an in-demand and prolific record producer, a sideman to the stars as guitarist for the likes of Robert Plant and, for the past decade, a member of the highly successful trio, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. When it comes to live performances there are few that can match his virtuosity. For this show he's gonna have a special band of stellar players backing him guaranteed to melt some minds.
Jimmy and the Sleepers are a gritty, genuine house-rockin' band based in our capital city. They were quarter finalists out of the 119 bands that competed in the just-held 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis and the winners of the Edmonton Blues Society's 2011 Memphis-bound competition that sent them there. This band cooks! Just ask anybody who saw their recent C'est La Vie CD Release Shows in Calgary and Edmonton.
Greg Demchuk and the Du-Rite Aces will be the opening act. This band sounds like all the stuff we dig - blues, jump, rockabilly, & western swing all mixed up into one big stew. So if you like live music played honest with no gimmicks...this is one band you gotta see.
