We invite you to join us at the 2012 Alberta Winter Classic to be held on February 25, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta! Spectators will be treated to DanceSport Alberta’s best dancers pitting their skills against competitors from across the country!

For the 2nd year in a row our venue is the Red and White Club at McMahon Stadium, found at 1833 Crowchild Trail NW. This easy to get to location has tons of free parking!

This year, the 2012 Alberta Winter Classic will debut a new format by hosting a full day of Amateur Only DanceSport competitions. We have also mixed up the schedule to provide a balance to those attending just the daytime events or those taking in the full event.

Our event features a full slate of International Style and American Style Amateur competitions with a combined scholarship purse of over $2400! These are the qualifying events for our region’s dancers wishing to enter the National Championships in Vancouver Easter weekend 2012.

We have mixed up the schedule from previous years. For instance, we will run the Senior I and II Standard/Smooth events including Championship levels and the Western Canadian Adult Open Championship during the late afternoon. We will also run the Junior Gold to Championship events to the evening.

Please note that all couples are required to purchase one $15 Competitor Registration fee per couple as well as purchase Saturday Evening Tickets if you are dancing any time on Saturday. Juveniles and Juniors will receive a $15 discount off the Saturday Evening Ticket price.
