Reiki is a powerful yet gentle, non-invasive healing modality that brings balance to the recipient holistically: emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Reiki in Japanese means "Universal Life Force." Working with this energy flow supports you to release mental, emotional and spiritual blocks that can allow for more direct access to the Divine, experienced in wholeness, unity, bliss, health, and clarity. Reiki can empower you to be more in touch with your body and inspired to choose foods and self-care practices that nurture you better.
At this two-day intensive you will be certified as a Reiki Level 1 practitioner in the Usui tradition. You will learn the tradition and history of Reiki, how to give sessions to yourself and others, as well how to use Reiki to bless your plants, pets, and spaces you inhabit. In this class you will learn about the innate wisdom of your body's energy centers and how to shield your energy field when necessary. Whether you wish to become a professional Reiki practitioner or to simply implement this healing blessing as a life tool, this learning enriches your experience of life. You will leave empowered to be a professional Reiki healer if you wish, with the possibility of advancing to levels Two, Three, or Master Teacher under Chela's tutelage.
A typical Reiki session "looks like" a client lying down on a massage table fully clothed, with the practitioner placing hands on different positions on the body. There is no manipulation of tissue as in massage--the energy simply flows through the healer's hands. Reiki has a "divine intelligence" that flows effortlessly to where it is needed.
Chela brings her unique guidance and teachings to the Reiki 1 curriculum. We will learn how to forge a connection to Mother Earth, a powerful force in grounding and healing. A specific focus of this particular class will be how Reiki can be a creative, artistic force in your life. We offer guidance on how to open to assistance from spirit realms such as angels, Archangels and Ascended Masters, and offer understanding of the evolutionary, dimensional shifts we are currently experiencing on Earth.
You will receive an in-depth Reiki manual and a Reiki 1 Certificate suitable for framing.

About Reiki Master Teacher Lauren "Chela Amma" Harkrader
Chela is grateful to have learned Reiki 1 at the young age of 17, spending nine years deepening with the knowledge before becoming at Reiki Master Teacher at age 26. She was trained by Toni Stevens who is two teachers down in the direct lineage from Ms Takata and Dr Usui. Chela is currently a senior at the Four-Year Barbara Brennan School of Healing, one of the premier institutions in the world for energy healing and psychological-spiritual development. She is a Doula and passionate about supporting mothers in natural childbirth whenever possible.
Chela was raised both in the US and Nicaragua, which deepened her passion for intercultural understanding and justice. She graduated with high honors in Studio Art from Oberlin College. She has spent three years in transformational leadership development. Chela is a disciple of Amma, "The Hugging Saint", a student of A Course In Miracles, studies Indigenous healing medicine with an Apache elder, practices the Merkaba meditation and has studied with Drunvalo Melchizedek working from the sacred chamber of the heart. Chela was raised a Unitarian Universalist the main tenant of which is respecting all paths to Source and now works with the Ascended Masters of many traditions. After an awakening experience of brain reconnecting in August of 2011, Chela has been channeling high powered healing from the Fifth Dimensions and higher.
Chela is also a DJ, singer/songwriter, visual artist, fashion designer and performance artist, seeing all her creations as offerings and expressions of Divine Grace. Chela believes we each possess all the tools and guidance we need to becoming our own best healer and Guru and she is thrilled to be of service to others in their healing journey of awakening and remembering.
