On the extra day this year Mivos Quartet will be hosting their first fundraising event. Join Mivos for a night of great music, food, drinks, a silent auction, and an after party! There will have three sets of music featuring works by members of Mivos, Annie Gosfield, Patrick Higgins, Alex Mincek, Tristan Perich, Ned Rothenberg, Timucin Sahin, Elliott Sharp, Sasha Siem, and JG Thirlwell. MIVOS will be joined by guest artists Ned Rothenberg, Clarinets; Timucin Sahin, Electric Guitar and Sasha Siem, Vocalist/Composer performing with us their own compositions.
Mivos will be releasing a live album especially for this occasion, Mivos play Mivos, features new works composed by members of the quartet, available at the event for a special low price. The silent auction includes generous donations by Cafe Grumpy (NYC), Bierkraft (Brooklyn), Earth & Stars Handmade Jewelry (Delmar, NY), Ned Rothenberg and Timucin Sahin, and more! We are happy to have Palo Tea sponsor the event. And please plan to celebrate at the after party in a lovely brownstone just around the corner, provided by the band Triple Cobra, with wine and beer generously donated by Sixpoint Brewery.
The fundraiser is aimed at covering our travel and lodging at Darmstadt this July. We've been selected as one of five ensembles from around the world to participate in Darmstadt Ensemble 2012 Project. Additionally we will use the funds raised to help support our non profit incorporation.
