2012 : GLOW ORANGE 2 : Dawn of the Apocalypse

*ALL DARK HARD MUSIC*

The clock is ticking, the signs are everywhere... From increased solar activity confirmed by NASA, mass bird deaths early in 2011, the rise of Ophucius as an accepted sign (also known to some as the sign of the apocalypse) to super volcanoes (2010), tsunamis (2009 + 2010 + 2011), massive storms, and chaos in general engulfing the world. Everything that is happening I saw in a vision I had in 2008, I believe it is my destiny is to enlighten people to this threat and guide them through the darkness... I am not alone. This is really happening whether you believe it is does not matter. – Aeryk 2k

***OMAR SANTANA*** (OhhGEE Management, NY/MI)

*HARDCORE* and a special 2nd *DUBSTEP* set upstairs 2-3!

Omar Santana, innovator of the Hard Hop sound, was inspired in the early 1980s to pick up the DJ trade after watching DJ Jellybean Benitez. From that moment on, the Queens, New York native began to make a name for himself DJing as part of the Dynamic Rockers Crew and began working with the likes of Arthur Baker, Tommy Boy, and Sleeping Bag Records.

By the mid 80s, Omar began remixing tracks for several rap artists: UTFO, The Boogie Boys, Stetsasonic and Mantronix. His superb DJ skills and stellar remix credits earned him a place as one of the infamous Edit Kings. It is because of that title that Omar has gone on to work with some many noteworthy names in music. Artists like Public Enemy, Janet Jackson, Simply Red, Quincy Jones, The Rolling Stones, New Order, The Shamen and MC Ren of NWA, have all requested the talents of Omar at one time or another.

Unhappy with the current state of Trip Hop, Omar began his own record label, Tricked Out Recordings and its Hardcore affiliate, H2OH Recordings, six years ago. Since then, he has been releasing his own material as well as that of fellow Hardcore and Breaks DJs. Recently in the studio with John Kelley, Omar has helped create what hopes to become a Break Beat smash single for his re-launched Tricked-Out imprint with Impending Doom. Not just known for his Trip Hop contributions, Omar has also successfully compiled the tracks for Hardcorps, contributed tracks to compilations such as Bigger Dirtier Beats as well as collaborating on the Moonshine Overamerica 2000 the Music DJ Mixed.

Moonshine has continued to document Omar Santana's work for the past five years through all of his musical journeys Tricked Out, Hard Hop Tricked Out, Battle for Planet of the Breaks and with his Hardcore For The Headstrong series. Throughout his adventures, he has become a true star of the American rave circuit, so much so that not only is Omar sponsoring his own events (Headstong), he is being recruited to help spearhead the Hardcore stages at a number of large events in the coming year.

Omar carries on with the tradition of his successful Hardcore for the Headstrong run by bringing you the latest installment The New Testament. This set combines Omars unparalleled DJing skills with his impeccable ear for what his fans enjoy the excitement of his live sets. Several of his own compositions mixed with those of Da Predator along with a number of tracks from Chosen Few, help create a pure feast for the Hardcore!

Omar wrote the book on Hardcore, and Hardcore For the Headstrong, The New Testament is a fantastic chapter in his latest manuscript.

***KRUNCHY*** (Koncrete Jungle, NY)

*DARK DRUM AND BASS*

Dj Krunchy is dedicated to the darker, harder side of the Drum and Bass, Jungle and Breaks sound. Starting in mid nineties, first as a dancer/raver at parties like Nasa, she eventually picked up some decks/headphones and started mixing. Beginning as a Gabber/Hardcore girl, she found herself constantly drawn to the breaks in the music, especially the Amen Breaks. Soon Jungle/DnB became her focus and true love. Her first mix tape ended up in the hands of Reid Speed, who passed it on to some promoter friends, and the rest is history. Now 13+ yrs later, Krunchy has developed razor sharp skills and a rep for mashing up sound systems with killer Bass. There is nothing shy, predictable or girlie about a Krunchy set. Come prepared to get pounded and to love it.

***JEN MAS*** (Vitus, NY)

*HARDCORE*

DJ Jen Mas is one of the leading ladies of hard dance music in North America. Founder of the Vitus crew, she's maintained an electronic music scene presence for 15 years strong, and has an invariably growing fan base that spans the globe. She is the country's first lady of hardcore, helping to push the sound to new levels and heights, which has been her main goal from the beginning. Known for her lightning fast mixing and scratching abilities, she never fails to impress with her fast-paced DJ sets and mind-bending mixes. While she's best known for playing hardcore and hardstyle, she also rocks many other genres including house, tech-house, electro, fidget, schranz, drum and bass, 80's dance and more. She has proven time and again that she is a DJ without boundaries, and has raised the bar when it comes to showmanship on the decks.

***DJ ODI*** (Digital Konfusion/Konkrete Jungle, NC)

*DRUM AND BASS*

Odi as he is known to the world, does not look like the type to have a group of beautiful women fawning over him. And yet, there are several that I have to get through to talk to him. People murmur “respect” as we walk outside. Their admiration is not underserved. Odi, is in great part responsible for the entire style of jungle music in NYC. “I can’t think of anything that makes me happier,” he says. “Every show makes me better.”

Jungle or drum&bass is one of the evolutions of the 90s electronica wave, characterized by an emphasis on fast-paced breakbeat and prominent bassline. It was then, back in its formative years that Bronx-born, Harlem-raised Odi entered the scene and gave it his kind of direction. “I grew up around 125th street , the home of hip hop. So it was natural to be an aggressive DJ, putting in the hip hop elements. It’s what I know.” His break came around after high school, when running promotions for the famous NASA rave parties at Club Shelter grew into a steady DJing slot. From there, Odi and some childhood friends who shared a lifestyle, culture and musical interest began pumping out electronic records with their own signature twist.

“Jungle didn’t happen as a music until 94. Back then it was all just called breaks or techno was the common term,” Odi recalls. “Anything went back then. My friends and I got real lucky, being in the right place at the right time.” Fans would argue that it was not only the position but the skills that propelled Odi and his DJ crew, Digital Konfusion, into the underground limelight. Their way of mixing jungle beats with Hip Hop has grown into its own genre. “Jump up” has been the defining style of NYC and the east coast in general since 97, when the crew formed their own eponymous record label and began spinning at NYC’s most dedicated weekly jungle show: Konkrete Jungle. Odi rapidly became a fixture, while continuing to travel the country, one of the first few to enjoy such popularity.
