Created By : Barrak Alzaid

At last year's brunch we had 100% participation from 12 people and raised $2,000! Donations ranged from $5 to $500 - I was so impressed and so proud that I just had to host another fundraiser brunch. Also it's an excuse to whip out my eclairs.

Even if you can't make it (though you'll rue the day you miss my baked goodies) I urge you to make a donation at my page:

https://immigrationequalityactionfund.org/donate/community?form_id=Ng

Fast Fact: A gift to Immigration Equality is a cost-effective investment: Of every $1 Immigration Equality spends, 97 cents goes directly to legal representation and advocacy.

Until just last year, any person living with HIV was barred from entering the United States. There was only one exception to this rule -- can you guess it?

Is political asylum in the US really a viable option for gay and lesbian people fleeing violence, torture, and persecution?

Are transgender marriages recognized for immigration purposes?

What would you guess was the biggest victory of late for LGBT people locked in detention centers?

If you're curious about any (or all!) of the answers to these questions, I hope you'll come by my apartment for a brunch party extravaganza for Immigration Equality -- one of my favorite activist organizations.

Drop in for merry-making, delicious eats, and the opportunity to learn more about how to get involved. I'm intending this as a fundraiser, so I hope you'll bring your check book. Of course there is no obligation to give, but I hope that once you learn more about the work that's being done that you'll want to chip in too.

You *are* however obligated to *eat* so you best bring empty stomachs.

See you soon!PS - RSVP today and stay tuned for more exciting announcements

** There will be vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten free, nut free**

**After a raging success at my last brunch, I'm bringing the bloody mary bar back. Be excited.**

If you have additional allergies, intolerances or food needs please let me know!
