"multiverse" is a multidisciplinary interactive installation produced by the artists of Roots and River Productions (http://rootsandriver.com/), exploring the possibilities of a black queer future. This event will also include the following presentations:
■ We Came to Sweat: The Making and the Taking of the Starlite Lounge
We Came To Sweat is a feature-length documentary directed by Kate Kunath and Sasha Wortzel about the eviction and historical erasure of the oldest Black owned gay bar in Brooklyn. The film explores the intersections of race, sexuality, and gentrification through the documentation of a historic and cultural institution on the verge of disappearance.
