THE SOCIAL CLUB
Amazing (Not using this word lightly) Power-pop on Alcopop! Records predicted for BIG things by various people in 2012. A sound somewhere between Weezer, Elvis Costello and The Get Up Kids. (Feat. Ex-captain everything personnel amongst others)

MATADORS
All the way from Leeds, this band feature members from other Leeds punk'n'roll bands Buzzkill (defunct) and The Dead Reckoning. They sound a bit like a UK Hot Snakes and their recently released Pay-what-you-want album is definitely one of my favourite albums from 2011.
Oh, and buy their t-shirt.

CAUTIONHORSES
Local alt-punk-rock types have a 1:3 shouting to guitar ratio. They sound a bit like Mclusky, Devo, Shellac and Hot Snakes in a blender, or some other equally shitly-worded comparrison. They were once described as too punk for the indie-kids and to too clever for the punk-kids, this may be nonsense, but they're really very good indeed.

GET HUMAN
Again, all the way from Leeds, touring with Matadors. I've heard some demos and they sound a bit like a blend of 2nd hand SNUFF riffs (They freely admit this) and melodies from The Thermals. These fairly-new-kids on the block feature an ex-Serf Combat (CHELMS!) and Rich from top melodic punk stalwarts The Grizzley Ends, along with 2 other nice chaps who are their friends in Leeds. 3/4 of them are tee-total so at least we can rely on one band to remain largely sober for the afternoon.EMERGENCY BITTER
It's been a good while since I requested their presence at a TSL show and they have a different drummer since they were last down. These chaps from London do great old-school-melodic-punkrock with Ian Dury style (In places!) vocals. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and to drink any venue dry of cider. It's a rock'n'roll riot!
