THE FELICE BROTHERS
Here’s what’s already known about The Felice Brothers: they are a close-knit band of two brothers and three longtime friends, all in their twenties. They are self-taught, not one of them played an instrument prior to the band’s inception in 2006 when they started busking in New York City subway stations. The Felice Brothers have released four full-length albums; their last ‘Celebration, Florida’ is an exhilarating amalgamation of frightening horn sections, unexpected 808s, ambient synth lines, schoolyard taunts, booming, primitive drum beats, heavy bass lines, piano, violin, accordion, ringing guitars, rave beats, and sinister acid jazz that captivates and mystifies. Celebration, Florida revels in a inventive, outlaw spirit; it’s the sound of a band that knows its roots and knows where it’s growing. It’s a group who just might expand the definition of Americana music along the way.
“Inventive, playful and utterly engrossing, Celebration, Florida has much to revel in” - Uncut magazine ****

CRAIG FINN (THE HOLD STEADY)
Craig Finn is the man behind Lifter Puller, The Brokerdealer and The Hold Steady. In early 2011 Craig challenged himself to write a new song every day in his Brooklyn apartment for his first solo album. “I had written a bunch of songs that were outside of the norm for The Hold Steady, a little quieter and perhaps more narrative,” he said. “I wanted to gain some experience and insight into the process of making a record by working with new people.” Finn enlisted producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon) and traveled to an Austin, Texas studio far away from his New York comfort zone. He hooked up with some local musicians there, including members of Phosphorescent and White Denim and sang his vocals live, keeping takes to a minimum and completed recording in a few days. The resulting album, ‘Clear Heart Full Eyes’ was released on January 24, 2012 through Vagrant Records.
