THE CHAKRAS

Led by brothers Rocky and Gordo Whittaker, The Chakras are hell bent on writing music that evokes reaction. Raised on a diet of Storm In Heaven era Verve self-belief, and Jesus and Mary Chain’s wanton fuzz, the band took an early hazy blueprint of how they wanted to sound and immediately removed anything that might interfere with their creating of it. They resigned from the day-jobs, moved to London, signed to Planet Function Records and have here made a record that took those noisy, hissing 8-track bedroom demos and transformed the very same songs into swirling, guitar-heavy anthems.

Their second single from their debut album ‘Build Me A Swan’ mixed by Chris Potter (The Verve, Urban Hymns) is set to release for the 19th March 2012. The title track ‘Build Me A Swan’ from this acclaimed album is a modern rock anthem. Forget all the talk about rock music being dead, this skyscraper of a track is every reason why it is alive and kicking.

THE ARKHAMISTS

The Arkhamists are a 3 piece grunge rock band from the Birmingham area. Their sound varies from fast and bulbous to slow and introspective, with a list of influences including Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Eels, Queens of the Stone Age and REM.
