MISSLE BIO

Hailing from the Westside of Birmingham, AL, Missle (born as John Thomas) was attracted to music at a young age. Growing up listening to a variety of music from old school to new school, Missle acquired an immediate love of music. Dating back to Christmas at the tender age of 5, Missle was given a present that would forever change his life; a cassette player. This marked the beginning of his obsession and passion for Hip Hop.

Missle would often walk around the house imitating his favorite songs and artists. As he grew older he began to write his own songs and poetry during his free time. He also taught himself how to free-style – the act of creating lyrics without a thought process while linking the ideas as they arise so that the content flows. Before long Missle was so good at free-styling, he would ask his friends to say random words as he free-styled. He would then incorporate the onslaught of random words into his freestyle; a true display of his talent. After recording and freestyling for years with family and peers as a hobby, Missle became serious about pursuing a career in Hip-Hop music.

Due to the lack of support of Hip Hop in Birmingham, AL, Missle decided to host an event to showcase his talent and any other artist that had the courage to step on stage. This event was an immediate success and Missle was requested to do the event weekly. As time went on, Missle’s audience and the demand for his music grew. The constant interrogation of when was he coming out with a cd and where people could get his music, drove him to start working and focusing on his debut body of work.

After months of recording this body of work is complete. With a fitting title of “Missle DOne”, he is fulfilling the needs of the streets with respect to Hip Hop and pursuing a lifelong goal. His highly anticipated mixtape “Missle DOne” embodies a deep southern vibe with complex lyricism. It also reflects the influence that artists such as Outkast, Jay-Z, Common, 2Pac, Lil Wayne, Nas and Eminem have had on Missle’s love for Hip Hop and his musical career.

Hip Hop is more than just making a nice beat and saying things that rhyme. Missle is out to Seek And Destroy this dull and lifeless definition of Hip Hop people have come to accept. With a genuine love of music and a constant hunger to perfect his craft the future looks bright for the young Birmingham MC.
