Khuda Kay Kiye Khuda Kay Kiye (In the Name of God)
A post 9/11 film that has taken the world by storm. The film unfolds as a dramatic clash of cultures between brothers. Following a terrible chain of events one brother due to his alleged Al-Qaeda links finds himself locked away in a US prison, and the other is forced to make choices which go against everything his local maulvi has taught him. The film crosses Pakistan, America and England to expose the acidic fall-out of ‘The war on Terror’ and of a twisted interpretation of religion in post 9 11.
Followed by a Q&A facilitated by members of the South Asian Alliance. Please note, this film is in Urdu with English subtitles. Dir. Shoaib Mansoor, 2011 (165 min).
