Falloch- http://www.facebook.com/falloch
Billed as Atmospheric Metal with influnces in Celtic/Melodic and the traditonal Folk songs they were bought up with. Affirming connections to their homeland of Scotland diriving thier name from the Falls of Falloch waterfall near Loch Lomond in Scotland. From the asthetics of quiet forests and calm rivers to the majesty of the Highlands featuring heavily in their lyrics and songwriting
"...Both nature and the nostalgia/longing for the past concept are most influential in our music/lyrics"- Born in Blood
Falloch have been widely well received and a signing to Candlelight records. Along with a slot at Candlefest under their belt, followed by a string of dates up and down the country will only serve to further Fallochs already highly acclaimed rise to power
Certainly not to be missed
Hordes
Hailing from our very shores of Birmingham, Hordes plays host to a move into the realms of Hypnotic, Post Black Metal. Featuring members of Birmingham legends (Anaal Nathrakh) only lends itself healthily to a this project still in its infantcy, but by no means diminishing the sound that will eventually be unvieled at their debut with all eyes eagarly awaiting this aural specticle!
93 Million Miles from the Sun (TBC)-
http://www.myspace.com/music/player?pid=20761&ac=now&owner=79130440
Doncaster based Shoegaze band displaying a collection of infectious symphonic tracks of muted lyrics, layered effects with abrasive and distorted guitars creating a monsterous ambient atmosphere
'...Thank heavens for small mercies then, as 93 Million Miles From The Sun not only manage to dampen stereotypes, but their self-produced, self-titled debut long player could (whisper it) just be one of 2009's most exquisite offerings on the album front'- drowned in sound
