In December 2011, Smokin Joe Mekhael did what no human being has ever done before when he DJed for 132.5 hours straight, smashing the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set in history by over 12 hours and becoming THE MARATHON DJ CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!

I did this to prove that

IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING!

This historic event was witnessed by the thousands of people who came into Empire over the five and a half days, as well as over 50,000 people who tuned into the 24 hour live stream in 124 countries all over the world!

You don't understand how difficult this task was. Concentrating on mixing and keeping the stream going for over five and a half days was incredibly tough!

But do you know what got me through the dehydration, extreme fatigue, hallucinations, delirium and borderline madness?

IT WAS YOU!

All of your support and encouragement is what got me through and for that reason, I'm throwing a party at Empire on Thursday to say thank you and so that we can celebrate together!

Guinness is still in the process of approving the world record but Smokin Joe Mekhael will be presented with his WORLD MARATHON DJ CHAMPIONSHIP BELT by representatives from his sponsors who witnessed history in the making and supported him all the way!
