Granny’s Courtyard is all about celebrating and understanding the spirit of our roots, our folklore and our culture.

Granny’s Courtyard is a unique theme based summer camp which revolves around Granny - the quintessential Grandmother of old. It is to provide a rustic and simple atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This camp provides children with a home away from home where they can make new friends and uncover hidden potentials.

Today, when the popular nomenclature for the younger generation is Gizmo Kids, Granny’s Courtyard tends to blow a whiff of fresh air into robotic lives, where young minds are exposed to vibrant and exclusive folk art forms of India. From making scarecrows, thatched roof houses and water canals to learning the nuances of theatre, dance, music and pottery. It is a totally unique experience for the young minds.

The focus is more on learning, on being one with nature, on amity and most importantly tracing back the steps those were once laid by us but have been washed away by the waves of technology and development.

Granny’s Courtyard is a unique get- away for children in the heart of art & nature!

The camp is divided into three aspects: Life skills, culture and art- of Indian civilization (North/ South/ East/ West)

Details: Granny’s Courtyard 2012

Dates: Between 1st April – 31st May in Bangalore

Between 1st May – 30th June in Delhi

Groups: Group A – 6-9 years

Group B – 10-13 years

Modes: 6 Days/10 Days/15 days/20 Days

Highlights: Each day (3 hours) is divided into:

Life-skill ( 1 hour)

Eg: Farming, Water canal making, Making thatched roof houses, understanding the food cycle of the chosen civilization etc



Culture (1 hour)

Eg: Socio- economical understanding of a civilization through story-telling, discussions, games etc



Art (1 hour)

Eg: Dance , Music, theatre and art and craft inspired by the cultural aspect of the chosen civilization

Fees: Rs. 200-300 per day (3 hrs)

We understand that in our fast paced life our needs change. Keeping this in mind the customised camps were devised. Here we either customise our camps or design innovative camps with the organisers to suit the need of their target audience.
